Alternatively, if you can hear the auction is running, you can try using "tlc" in console command, to move your self to the stage, manually, and then disable "tlc".
Or use the in-game Wait function (Default: "T" on keyboard, "Back" on Xbox).
Flat out just wait and do nothing, and you may be teleported to the stage (This method is needed in VR no matter what).
